Executive Board Elections
ELECTRONIC VOTING PROCEDURES
From now until August 30 at 11pm, you may cast a vote online for the offices of Commissioner and Rainbow Division Representative (if you are a member of that division).
The following individuals have been nominated for office.
Commissioner: Reggie Brown (Rookies), Scott Filimon (Mavericks)
Rainbow Division Rep: Kourtney Howell (Sirens), Cynthia Green (Empires)
In order to vote on-line, you must use the email address that you used to register as a member of the league at the beginning of the season. If you no longer have access to that address, or share that address with another league member, or do not have an email address, please see the exception process described below.
Standard Process
Click on the "Sign In" button in the upper right corner of the front page.
If you have never signed in to BigAppleSoftball.com before, click on the link under "First Time Signing In." You will need to enter the email address you used to register as a member of the league earlier this season. If your address is found in the database, you will receive an email message containing a temporary password.
If you have previously activated your account at BigAppleSoftball.com, enter your email address and password. If you have forgotten your password, you can reset it by entering your email address and pressing the button under "Forgot Your Password?".
If you have trouble logging in, please refer to the exception process below.
Once you have logged in, click on VOTE NOW, under the Elections and Polls section of your homepage to see the list of candidates. All league members will be able to vote on the office of Commissioner. Only members of the Rainbow Division will be able to vote on the office of Rainbow Division Rep.
FOR EACH OFFICE, select the candidate you are voting for and click on "Cast Vote". (If you are voting for more than one office, you must click the "Cast Vote" button for each office.) A display on the right side will indicate whether you have voted for the office.
Once you have cast your vote, you may not change it, so please carefully review your selection before pressing "Cast Vote".
Please remember that the deadline to cast your vote is 11pm on Monday, August 30.
Exception Process
If you are not able to log in to the BigAppleSoftball.com web site -- because you can not access the email address you used to register with the league, or because you share the account with another league member, or because you do not have an email address -- please follow this process.
Send an email message to Courtney Joseph (Treasurer@BigAppleSoftball.com) or call him at 646 - five two six six five three three. Indicate your full name, your team name, the reason why you couldn't cast your vote on line, and your actual votes. Playing for Life Needs Your Help!
Playing for Life Volunteers
Playing for Life is BASL's Annual Softball Tournament, attended by teams from NAGAAA cities from across the U.S.. This year, Playing for Life VII will take place over Labor Day weekend in Central Park. Mike D'Antonio and Anthony Giannoccora, tournament co-directors, are seeking volunteers to assist on the weekend of the tournament.
Playing for Life Fundraisers
Fundraisers and on-line donations are being solicited to help the Playing for Life Committee raise operating funds and cover up-front costs so that what is raised later through team fees and merchandising can be donated to this year's beneficiary, SAGE (Services and Advocacy for GLBT Elders).
Some of the up-front and operating costs include: equipment costs, permit costs, awards, promotional items, umpire fees, program coordination and printing, and supplies.
There are likely to be some other costs related to the tournament operations that are not listed here, and the committee hopes to leave some operating funds in the tournament account for next year's committee, so we have to raise quite a bit of money to get things rolling. As you can see, there are many expenses related to running the tournament, and your participation in fundraisers and on-line contributions helps us to meet these expenses so we have a successful tournament. Thank you for your generosity. Click here to give.
Michael D'Antonio & Anthony Giannoccora
Co-Directors, Playing for Life VII
