This committee is responsible for growing the BASL. As the largest active LGBT sports organization in NYC, we'd like to continue to grow and this committee's work generally functions in the off-season by creating advertising and media bulletins announcing the BASL and instructions for those wishing to join. The Draft Day is when players wishing to join the league can demonstrate their playing ability to Managers of the BASL. Members of this committee assist in guiding, instructing, and organizing the Draft Day activities. This includes workout routines for infielders, outfielders, pitchers and batting. The committee will also be responsible for the setup and breakdown of the equipment at the practice fields. The BASL was created primarily to provide a safe environment for members of the LGBT community to play sports. A side benefit was to foster a social setting where members could meet and establish a sense of community. The Social Committee has this responsibility. This committee is charged with staging our annual Follies presentation. Needed are stage managers, ticket sellers and takers, promotions and other theatrical type positions. Funds raised will assist those teams attending the NAGAAA Gay World Series. The Follies will be held on July 25th at Splash. To get involved email follies@bigapplesoftball.com

Playing for Life is an annual tournament put on by a special committee of the BASL, attracting NAGAAA teams from across the U.S.. This year's tournament is the seventh edition and is scheduled to take place on Labor Day weekend, September 3-6, in Central Park. This tournament proceeds will be donated to SAGE to support their efforts with seniors in the LGBT community. Volunteers are needed to help with various tournament committees. These interior committees include handling supplies and equipment, promotions and outreach, field coordinator, protest/administration, registration/scheduling. As one of the largest sports organization in New York City we will again march in the Gay Pride Parade. We need volunteers to coordinate and interface with the Heritage of Pride organizers and with members of the BASL for participation. This year's event will be held on Sunday June 27th. If you'd like to help plan for this celebration, or march in the parade, please email gaypride@bigapplesoftball.com.

Members of this committee will receive and arrange the awards for presentation as well as staff, monitor, and count election ballots of those members who decide not to vote online through the league website.
