The BASL Mission Statement

The Big Apple Softball League is open to all persons regardless of age, race, religion, gender, sexual orientation or playing ability. A member of the North American Gay Amateur Athletic Alliance (NAGAAA), the league includes both competitive and recreational teams. Players of all skill levels are welcome. Games are scheduled each weekend from April to August, except for holidays. League teams have the opportunity to compete in a variety of tournaments throughout the U.S. and Canada, including the annual NAGAAA Gay World Series.

The BASL is open to everyone regardless of sexual orientation. Participation in the league, including the appearance of a person’s name or likeness at a league function (games, fundraisers, etc.) or in a league publication (the league newsletter or Web site), should in no way be construed as an indication of that individual’s sexual orientation.
